RALEIGH, N.C. (November 12, 2015) – Time Warner Cable (TWC) has completed the rollout of faster Internet speeds to all its customers in the Triangle area, with the fastest offering, Ultimate Internet, delivering download speeds up to 300 megabits per second. Customers with any of the six Internet plans offered by TWC in its Triangle service area have access to faster speeds with customers experiencing speeds up to six times faster, depending on their current level of Internet service. Customers may need to upgrade their modem to access the increased speeds.
The faster Internet speeds mark the completion of the “TWC Maxx” rollout across the Triangle. The speed upgrades are available throughout the Triangle area, including the following communities:
Aberdeen, Apex, Benson, Bunn, Cary, Chapel Hill, Chatham Co., Creedmoor, Dunn, Durham, Fayetteville, Fuquay-Varina, Garner, Goldsboro, Henderson, Hillsborough, Holly Springs, Hope Mills, Knightdale, Leesville, Louisburg, Lumberton, Middlesex, Morrisville, Oxford, Pinehurst, Pittsboro, Raeford, Raleigh, Selma, Siler City, Smithfield, Southern Pines, Spring Lake, Wake Forest, Warrenton, Wendell, Wilson and Zebulon.
“We know access to faster Internet is important to our customers, and with the completion of TWC Maxx, all of our customers in the Triangle area now have access to faster speeds,” said Joe DiMelis, area vice president of operations for Eastern North Carolina. “Faster and more reliable Internet, more HD video and enhanced network reliability are just the beginning of the benefits our customers are enjoying from TWC Maxx.”
In all, Time Warner Cable is investing more than $38 million in the Triangle area to bring customers these faster speeds and other service enhancements. Additional components of TWC’s new customer experience with TWC Maxx include:
New TV Experience
Along with ultra-fast Internet speeds, TWC Maxx includes access to an all-digital TV lineup. A 100% digital lineup brings customers better picture and sound and frees up capacity in the network for additional channels, more than 20,000 On Demand choices — growing to more than 25,000 by the end of the year — new features and even faster Internet speeds in the future.
The advanced TV experience also includes an Enhanced DVR, which lets customers simultaneously record up to six different programs, and the ability to save up to 150 hours of high-definition (HD) programming on its 1TB (terabyte) hard drive, which is twice the storage of the largest prior model.
Rock-Solid Network Reliability
As TWC has committed to new network performance standards companywide, this initiative will include a stringent review and upgrade of every network connection site (referred to as hubs) to ensure optimum service levels are delivered to every neighborhood. Each TWC hub serves thousands of customers with TV, Internet and phone services.
