(COLUMBUS) – Court TV and Time Warner Cable will bring Digital Fingerprinting to the Hilliard Community Center on Saturday, March 31, 2007 from 10am – 2pm, as a part of the Easter Egg Hunt and Bunny Carnival. Families can participate in the event and receive free digital fingerprinting, which takes only a few minutes. The first 300 kids to attend the event will receive a free DNA kit. Tickets or reservations are not required for this free event.
Court TV has launched a child safety program offering free digital fingerprinting for kids around the country. Its mission is to help prevent crimes against children by providing parents and guardians with tools such as digital fingerprints and other safety tips. Court TV has fingerprinted thousands of children since the program’s initiation in 2002. Each child receives an 8 x 10 printout with photo, fingerprints, and personal information such as height, weight, and hair color. Information and fingerprints are strictly for the privacy of the families, and no information is kept on file.
In addition, The National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC), the nation’s leading non-profit organization for providing services for families and professionals in the prevention of abducted, endangered, and exploited children, will provide important prevention tips for parents and guardians to help keep their child out of harms way.
