Time Warner Cable Business Class Introduces New Internet Speed Tiers for New York City's Business Community

New 100 Mbps and 75 Mbps Internet Speed Tiers Provide Businesses with More Choices

Release Date: 10/16/2013

Time Warner Cable Business Class (TWCBC) today announced two new Internet speed tiers to better serve the evolving needs of New York City’s business community. With the addition of the new 100 Mbps and 75 Mbps speed tiers, TWCBC now offers businesses a suite of bandwidth options that range from 7 Mbps x 768 Kbps to as fast as 10 Gbps x 10 Gbps.

The announcement was made at the 9th Annual New York Business EXPO and Conference being held at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center. TWCBC is the presenting sponsor of the trade show, which is the largest annually held small business event in the Northeast. The trade show is expected to attract more than 10,000 attendees to learn about products and technologies that can grow their businesses.

“As partners to New York City’s business community, we are committed to making investments to provide fast, reliable Internet services at a wide array of speed choices,” said Greg King, Senior Vice President and Chief Product and Strategy Officer for TWCBC. “Our new 100 Mbps and 75 Mbps service tiers are great additions to our suite of Internet products. We will continue to enhance our high-quality communications solutions that help New York City businesses thrive and compete in today’s global economy.”

TWCBC also provides several WiFi benefits to businesses that take its Internet services. Businesses can give their employees access to more than 200,000 TWC WiFi access points around the country, making business travel easier. Businesses can also utilize TWCBC to set up their own WiFi hotspot, which enables them to provide a free and valuable service to customers.

MM & R, Inc., a women’s fashion wholesale design firm with a location on 276 Greenpoint Avenue in Brooklyn, recently decided to switch to Time Warner Cable Business Class as its communications provider. Alan Miller, Director of MM & R, said, “The availability of different speed tiers is very attractive to us because we value vendors that offer us flexibility to accommodate our always changing needs. We just moved our core IT services to a data center in NJ and high speed connections are very important. We’re really impressed with the speed our new 100 Mbps Internet service is providing us.”

To help launch the new speed tiers, TWCBC is holding a contest in which eligible small business owners can submit a written or video story describing what their business could do with 100 Mbps*. The top 20 contest winners will receive a laptop, tablet and HDTV. More information can be found at
