Creative Loafing in Charlotte named News 14 Carolina morning weekday anchor Rob Boisvert the best local tv anchor. The recognition was part of the publication’s 21st annual Best of Charlotte edition. News 14 Carolina is an exclusive service for Time Warner Cable subscribers. “This recognition for Rob Boisvert is additional proof that News 14 Carolina is one of the primary sources for people to get their news in the Charlotte area,” says News 14 Carolina general manager, Alan Mason.
According to Creative Loafing, “Boisvert delivers a crisp, involving newscast as News 14’s weekday morning anchor, and deserves more recognition…Boisvert comes across as an actual human being rather than the typical well-coiffed cardboard cutout TV newsguy.”
Boisvert joined News 14 Carolina in March 2005, and brings extensive experience covering news in the Carolinas. He spent five years at WSOC-TV in Charlotte as a weekend anchor. He also covered news in the Winston-Salem, N.C., area at WXLV-TV, where he was a reporter and anchor. In April of 2008, Rob published his first book titled, “Long Dead Lover.”
Prior to his broadcasting career, Rob wrote for national business publications including Monthly Market Report and Bank Securities Monthly, and worked as an investment broker for Dean Witter.
A Boston native, Rob attended Boston College.
