Raleigh, NC (November 21, 2011) - News 14 Carolina introduces a new weekday morning anchor, Marti Skold. While she has already begun doing special projects, Marti begins her full-time anchor duties December 1.
Marti Skold is a two-time Emmy Award winning journalist who brings more than 20 years of broadcasting experience to the News 14 Carolina anchor desk. She comes to News 14 Carolina from Salt Lake City, Utah where she was morning anchor and hosted a daily talk show at KTVX-TV.
“We’re pleased to be bringing Marti and her television journalism experience to News 14 Carolina’s statewide network. She’s worked in North Carolina before and is excited to be back near friends and family,” says Alan Mason, News 14 Carolina vice president and general manager.
Growing up in Minnesota, Marti started her career at a local radio station in her hometown of Benson. Marti has worked as a journalist in the Miami and Los Angeles areas, as well as in the Wilmington and Greenville, North Carolina television markets.
She graduated with honors from Concordia College in Moorhead, Minnesota with a double major in Communications and English/Writing and a minor in Scandinavian Studies. Marti is very much in tune with her Norwegian and Swedish heritage and taught Norwegian in the summer while she was attending college.
