KANSAS CITY (August 16, 2011) – Time Warner Cable announced Tuesday that PAWS On Demand is now available to its customers on KC On Demand Channel 411. Kansas City area pet lovers can now just turn on their televisions to see photos and get information on select pets that are available for adoption at Wayside Waifs and Heartland SPCA, including dogs, cats, rabbits and more.
“We are always striving to bring our customers unique content with our On Demand channels, and PAWS On Demand certainly does that,” Metro Networks General Manager Chris Huwe said. “I’m sure that our viewers who are animal lovers will take advantage of this channel and adopt some pets that are truly in need.”
“Wayside Waifs is grateful for this wonderful opportunity to highlight our Waifs on PAWS On Demand,” said Wayside Waifs President Cynthia Smith. “Wayside Waifs cares for more than 6,500 animals each year at our no-kill pet adoption center, and this great partnership is a powerful way to promote pet adoption in the Kansas City community.”
“We’re thrilled at the opportunity to showcase the amazing pets awaiting adoption at our facility, and are appreciative of Time Warner Cable for making it possible to positively promote the homeless pets in our community,” said Courtney Thomas, CEO/Executive Director for Heartland SPCA.
Viewers can find PAWS On Demand on Time Warner Cable channel 411. PAWS On Demand is located under the “Community Tab,” and shows select pets that are available for adoption at Heartland SPCA and Wayside Waifs. Photos of adoptable animals are shown, as well as the animal’s name, breed, age, sex, size and color, and also listed is information on if the animal is spayed/neutered, declawed and housetrained.
Please note – Neither Time Warner Cable, nor Wayside Waifs/Heartland SPCA, can guarantee the animals on PAWS On Demand will be available when customers visit their facility to begin the adoption process, although the PAWS On Demand content will be updated on a weekly basis.
