Several Thousand Cast Votes for Finalist in Miss North Carolina Competition

Time Warner Cable to Air Pageant Live on June 23

Raleigh, NC (June 12, 2012) – More than 30,000 North Carolinians have taken advantage of a unique opportunity to help select a finalist for the upcoming Miss North Carolina Pageant. For the first time in pageant history, the general public can view contestant videos online or through “on demand” cable technology and vote for their favorite. The viewer’s choice contest was launched by Time Warner Cable, News 14 Carolina and the Miss North Carolina Pageant in late May.

“There is still time for the public to learn about the talented women competing in the 75th annual pageant and vote for their favorite finalist,” said Jason Lockhart, manager, Carolina On Demand.

Through June 20th, videos of the 36 contestants are available for viewing on Carolina On Demand (channels 199 or 1047) or Time Warner Cable digital customers can watch the programming on Carolina On Demand. Every viewing equals one vote. Everyone can cast votes online at if they are Facebook members. After watching the video clips online, the voter should simply click the LIKE button for the contestant he or she thinks should be named a finalist. The contestant that receives the most “LIKE” votes online and views on Carolina On Demand will be named the Time Warner Cable Viewer’s Choice Contestant and compete as the 11th finalist during the live competition.

The Miss North Carolina pageant will air live at 8:00 p.m. on June 23rd on Time Warner Cable’s Special Events channel 520. An edited version of the finals will also be available for viewing on Carolina On Demand starting Monday, June 25th.
