Time Warner Cable Celebrates NYC's Diversity with Sponsorship of Hispanic Day Parade

New York City – Time Warner Cable continued its support of New York City’s Hispanic community by sponsoring the annual Hispanic Day parade, held along Manhattan’s 5th Avenue on Sunday, October 14. Several prominent members of the Hispanic community were part of the Time Warner Cable float. Salsa singer Frankie Negron performed live, and was joined by boxing champion Peter “Kid Chocolate” Quillin and NY1 Noticias reporter Juan Manuel Benítez.

Best known for music that combines the salsa influences of his Puerto Rican heritage and the rock and roll roots of his home state New Jersey, Frankie Negron has earned numerous Grammy Award nominations, Billboard Award nods and two Premio Lo Nuestro Awards for Song of the Year.

Peter “Kid Chocolate” Quillin is an undefeated, Cuban-American boxer and the No. 1 ranked WBO middleweight contender. Fighting out of New York City, Quillin gets his first world title shot on Saturday, October 20 at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center, airing live on SHOWTIME®.

Juan Manuel Benítez is a NY1 Noticias reporter and host of Pura Política, a weekly talk-show on local, national and international politics. Benítez has covered assignments from Puerto Rico, Mexico and Cuba, and the Democratic and Republican National Conventions in 2004. Benítez was born and raised in Badajoz, Spain.
