Charlotte, NC – Time Warner Cable and News 14 Carolina launched “Holiday Hopes & Happenings” today, a month-long drive to help families in need this holiday season across North Carolina and South Carolina. During the drive, members of the community and Time Warner Cable employees will join together to make the holidays brighter for families in need. Unwrapped toys collected will be given to Time Warner Cable’s holiday partner, The Salvation Army, to benefit local families in each community.
“We know the needs in our community are great and are especially felt during the holiday season,” said Darrel Hegar, Regional Vice President – Operations, Time Warner Cable. “Through the collective efforts of our employees, customers and the public, we want to make the holidays a little brighter for children and families across the region.”
The public can participate by dropping off a new, unwrapped toy at any Time Warner Cable customer care center, payment center or kiosk beginning Nov. 19. Find the nearest location by visiting http://www.timewarnercable.com/en/residential-home/support/twc-stores.html Donations will be accepted through Dec. 12.
In addition, Time Warner Cable has partnered with several businesses across the Carolinas to serve as drop off locations, making it even easier for the public to help. They are:

- O2 Fitness locations in Raleigh and Wilmington, NC

“Thousands of families have turned to The Salvation Army to provide holiday cheer for their children and meet basic needs. Our ability to meet the demand is a direct reflection of the community’s support and involvement,” stated Major James Seiler, spokesperson for the organization. “We are so thankful for Christmas partnerships such as this that collect new gifts for the children who would otherwise wake to a Christmas morning with no presents to open.”
