Students from Three New York City Schools will Learn Fundamentals of TV Production and Create PSAs with Emphasis on Diversity in Television

New York, NY - January 31, 2006 - Time Warner Cable and Bravo, the premier arts and entertainment network, team up to offer students from Frederick Douglass Academy, Thurgood Marshall Academy and New York City Outward Bound's Network of Small Expeditionary Learning Schools the opportunity to participate in a television production workshop offered in conjunction with Bravo's new educational initiative, Bravo On The Set.

Bravo On The Set 's mission is to foster diversity in television and provide students, ages 14 - 18, with hands-on experience behind the scenes. The two-day workshop in New York City will be held Friday, Feb. 10 at Chelsea Studios and Saturday, Feb. 11 at Interflix Studio where students will work and train with experienced production professionals. The program culminates with students writing, directing, editing and producing their own Public Service Announcements.

"Time Warner Cable is delighted to join Bravo in delivering this unique learning experience to teachers and students in our community," said Harriet Novet, Vice President, Time Warner Cable of New York and New Jersey. "Using our resources to work directly with schools on programs such as Bravo On The Set provides us an exclusive opportunity to develop creative skills and bring hands-on educational experiences to teens."

Broadening the program's reach, Bravo partnered with National Association for Multi-Ethnicity in Communications (NAMIC) and The Cable Center to create multi-level opportunities and invite a more diverse pool of young talent to consider further education and, ultimately, careers in the television industry.

"Bravo is proud to support the new program where we can provide students technical and leadership skills and encourage innovative and outside the box thinking," commented Lauren Zalaznick, President, Bravo. " Bravo On The Set will help pave the way in cultivating a more diverse landscape in our industry by reaching out to today's youths at a critical point in their lives."

In addition to the local workshops, high school students across the New York City area will be encouraged to enter the Bravo On The Set national essay contest for an opportunity to win a seven-day television production internship that includes spending time on the set of an NBC Universal production in NY during the summer of 2006.
