Tour Promotes Physical Fitness

DAYTON, OH – June 25, 2007 – Time Warner Cable and Cartoon Network are partnering to bring the GET ANIMATED Tour to Dayton on July 4, 2007, from noon to 5 p.m. in the Town Square at The Greene. The tour is a pro-social, pro-lifestyle program designed to motivate, energize and educate kids, ages 6 – 14, about healthy living choices by using the power of Cartoon Network’s shows and brands. 
The GET ANIMATED Tour gives kids the opportunity to engage in physical activities that promote the message of keeping in shape. Activities will include a kickball station, tennis challenge, obstacle course, stationary bicycle race, Spot the Block life size puzzle game.  All activities will be themed around Cartoon Network characters, including Ben 10, Camp Lazlo, Class of 3000, Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends, The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy, and My Gym Partner is a Monkey.

“Time Warner Cable cares about kids, and we want to help create a safe, healthy and supportive community for children,” said Karen Baxter, director of public affairs at Time Warner Cable Southwest Ohio division. “We are pleased to partner with Cartoon Network to help children learn about healthy living choices.”

There will also be tents with additional activities. Time Warner Cable will sponsor a prize wheel and a corn hole toss and will be giving away bracelets.  Kids are Tops Gym will have gymnastics, cheer and dance and will be giving away tattoos. WesBanco will have corn hole and Simon says and will be giving away pencils, glow in the dark tattoos and water bottles. Children's Medical Center will have a ring toss and will be giving away magnets, and Victoria Theatre will have theater games and will be giving away stickers.

The GET ANIMATED Tour will make 40 stops across the United States from May 20 – August 29, 2007.
