IndyCar driver, Danica Patrick and Carolina Panthers players Ryan Kalil and Dan Connor meet fans at Road Runner Mobile Event

Charlotte, NC – In celebration of the Time Warner Cable 4G Mobile Network introduction in Charlotte, Time Warner Cable hosted a free party and concert for select customers at The Fillmore Charlotte at NC Music Factory. The event, sponsored by Motorola Inc and Synchronoss Technologies Inc, was invitation-only for select Time Warner Cable Triple and Double Play customers in the Charlotte area.   More than one thousand customers were treated to demonstrations of the first product to launch on the 4G Mobile Network, Road Runner Mobile, entertainment from 7 Bridges, the ultimate Eagles experience, and appearances by IndyCar driver, Danica Patrick and Carolina Panthers stars, Ryan Kalil (center) and Linebacker Dan Connor (linebacker), who all know what it’s like to be in the fast lane!

“This product launch expands on Time Warner Cable’s vision of ‘The 4 Anys’, giving our customers the ability to view any content, at anytime, anywhere on any device with the same super-fast speeds they experience at home,” said Michael Miess, vice president wireless, Time Warner Cable Carolina Region. “Customers using the Time Warner Cable 4G Network and Road Runner Mobile can expect internet speeds up to 6Mbps.  That is approximately 5 times faster than our 3G competitors.”

Residents of North and South Carolina are also invited to enter the 4G Life in the Fast Lane Sweepstakes at through December 31, 2009.  The Grand Prize is 4G ($4,000) and a HD 311 Netbook.   10 lucky first prize winners will also receive a HP 311 Netbook.

Charlotte is one of the first markets nationwide to launch Road Runner Mobile.  Beginning December 1st, the 4G wireless data service became available in the Charlotte, Greensboro and Raleigh areas.
