  • Company Supports Volunteers of America’s “Toys for the Holidays” Campaign and Other Holiday Initiatives

New York, NY – Hundreds of Time Warner Cable’s East Region/NYC area employees participated in the company’s annual holiday campaign which benefitted Volunteers of America’s “Toys for the Holidays.”  Over 650 new toys were donated by Time Warner Cable employees for less fortunate kids in the community, all distributed through Volunteers of America to kids in local homeless and domestic violence shelters, pre-kindergarten schools for kids with developmental delays and group homes for at-risk youth.

"Time Warner Cable has become one of our most reliable and committed corporate partners, not purely from a financial underwriting standpoint but as a company that encourages its employees to engage in community service,” said Rachel Weinstein, Vice President, Development & Communications, Volunteers of America.  “Once again, their donation of toys far exceeded our expectations.  Time Warner Cable employees are particularly generous, as evidenced by the obvious care they took to select just the right toys for the children in our programs."

“Time Warner Cable’s annual campaign is a heartwarming holiday tradition in which employees ensure less fortunate families and children receive gifts and food between Thanksgiving and Christmas,” said Harriet Novet, Regional Vice President, Public Affairs, Time Warner Cable’s East Region/NYC area.

In addition to supporting Volunteers of America, Time Warner Cable employees in the Hudson Valley area donated gifts to Safe Passage and Family Services, an organization that helps families seek safety from domestic abuse.  Throughout the holiday season, New York City employees donated over 2,000 non-perishable food items as part of its food campaigns to ensure that less fortunate residents in Staten Island, Corona (Queens), Hudson Valley and Harlem communities had the opportunity to enjoy a holiday meal.

Time Warner Cable has a long tradition of strong community interaction and support.  Employees perform volunteer work for various organizations throughout the year, enriching communities and making valuable contributions.
