KANSAS CITY (October 27, 2011) – The Kansas City Chiefs have a huge battle for first place on Monday night against the San Diego Chargers, and Time Warner Cable and ESPN will be on-site at Arrowhead Stadium informing fans about the free “WatchESPN” App that is available exclusively to TWC customers in the Kansas City area.
Chiefs fans headed to Arrowhead Stadium on Monday are encouraged to stop by the TWC/ESPN fan information area, which will be located at the Ford Fan Experience between the Founder’s Plaza and the Hy-Vee Gate. The fan information area will open at 3 p.m. when the parking lots at Arrowhead Stadium open, and will remain open until the game kicks off at 7:30 p.m. In addition to learning about the “WatchESPN” app, fans who visit the fan information area will have the chance to win great giveaway items from Time Warner Cable and ESPN.
The free “WatchESPN” App is available for Android devices from the Android Market and for Apple devices from the App Store, and gives Time Warner Cable customers access to live streaming feeds from ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU, ESPN Goal Line, ESPN Buzzer Beater and ESPN3.com. Time Warner Cable customers who receive ESPN networks as part of their video subscription have the opportunity to watch all of their favorite ESPN programming, including games, for free with the “WatchESPN” App.
The free App – first launched to iPad, iPhone and iPod touch in April of 2011 – features a simple user interface that now also takes the live viewing experience to the high-resolution, Multi-Touch displays of Android devices.
To log into the “WatchESPN” App customers must first create a Time Warner Cable ID and then register for Time Warner Cable “My Services”. The account username and password that customers create in My Services will be the same information they will use to access the “WatchESPN” App. More information on how TWC customers can login to the “WatchESPN” App for the first time can be found on the TWC website.
Time Warner Cable customers can also watch programs from the six ESPN networks on their laptop and desktop computers by going to www.WatchESPN.com and logging in with their TWC “My Services” account information.
