TIME WARNER CABLE INTRODUCES 'AUTOHD' IN THE CAROLINAS

New Feature Automatically Tunes to and Records HD Signal on Capable Set-Top Box

Release Date: 08/07/2012

Charlotte, North Carolina (August 7, 2012) – Time Warner Cable today introduced AutoHD to customers in North and South Carolina using high definition-capable set-top boxes.  The new feature, which is automatically activated on Time Warner Cable HD set-top boxes, will tune the HD signal of many popular channels, even when the standard-definition channel number is selected.

AutoHD is available at no additional charge to any Time Warner Cable customer with an HD-capable set-top box.  AutoHD will also automatically record the HD signal of shows, even if the customer scheduled the recording on the SD channel.  And AutoHD will also display content viewed through Time Warner Cable’s Start Over® and Look Back® features in HD if available.

“AutoHD helps Time Warner Cable customers enjoy many of the HD channels we offer better,” said Darrel Hegar, regional vice president of operations, Time Warner Cable Carolinas.  “Whether you’re watching sports, your favorite series or the local news, AutoHD helps ensure you’re seeing it in crystal clear HD.”

AutoHD will deliver the HD signal on HD-capable Time Warner Cable set-top boxes automatically for select channels.   For more information, please visit twc.com/hdtv.
