Kansas City, MO (December 13, 2011) – Time Warner Cable (TWC) Kansas City employee Luis Fasani recently finished second place overall at the 2011 International Cable-Tec games, thereby establishing himself as one of the top cable technicians in the country.
Fasani, a senior maintenance technician with TWC, also won the inaugural “Spirit of the Games” award for being the competitor who best exhibited sportsmanship and embraced the learning environment at the games. Fasani beat out more than 800 competitors for this award.
“We’re very proud of Luis for his great performance in the Cable-Tec games,” said Scott Miller, Time Warner Cable's area vice president of operations. “Time Warner Cable prides itself on having the best employees in our industry, and Luis is a shining example of the great technicians who take care of our customers on a daily basis.”
Fasani advanced to the International Cable-Tec Games by winning first-place at the local Cable-Tec Games earlier this year. At the International Cable-Tec games, the local winners competed in events that measured their technical abilities, such as cable splicing and meter reading, and demonstrated their knowledge in events such as cable jeopardy.
In the process of earning his second place overall finish, Fasani earned the silver medal in the fiber splicing competition and the bronze medal in the drop connection event.
Fasani has worked with TWC Kansas City since he and his family moved to Kansas City from Argentina in February of 2001.
