Time Warner Cable Kansas City to Hold Supplier Diversity Fair on October 6th

Minority and women-owned companies are invited to find out more about business opportunities with TWC at event at Union Station

KANSAS CITY (September 29, 2011) – Diverse business owners interested in doing business with the nation’s second largest cable provider are invited to attend Time Warner Cable’s Supplier Diversity Fair on Thursday, Oct. 6.  The event will run from 1 - 4 p.m. and will take place in the Arthur Stilwell Room at Union Station (30 W. Pershing Rd., Kansas City, MO 64108).

Time Warner Cable purchases more than $200 million a year in supplies and services from certified minority and women-owned business enterprises (MWBE) as part of its commitment to diversity and inclusion. At the event on Oct. 6, business leaders will have an opportunity to speak with company representatives regarding product, service and contracting opportunities with Time Warner Cable and meet other local entrepreneurs regarding their experiences working with the company.

“Community and inclusion are two of our greatest values at Time Warner Cable. As such, it is vital that our workforce mirror the communities that we serve,” said Scott Miller, Time Warner Cable's area vice president of operations for the Kansas City/Lincoln division. "We are delighted to host this great opportunity for minority and women business owners to connect with our leaders, and hopefully to start building some exciting new partnerships.”

While not a requirement to attend the fair, all diverse businesses seeking to participate in Time Warner Cable’s Supplier Diversity Program must be certified. Time Warner Cable accepts certifications from the affiliate councils of the National Minority Supplier Development Council (NMSDC), National Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce (NGLCC) and the Women's Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC). We also accept certification from local, state, or federal government agencies.
