Time Warner Cable’s Kansas City Division will air live news coverage of the Pope’s visit to New York next weekend on Channel 5 (MetNet).
“This is the first visit to the United States by Pope Benedict XVI and is expected to be of intense interest to Catholics,” says Time Warner Cable Director of Public Affairs Damon Porter. “By placing coverage of the Pope’s visit on Channel 5 of our standard tier, we are able to bring live coverage of the Pope’s visit to all of Time Warner Cable’s Kansas City area customers.”
Coverage will begin at 5 a.m. and end at 10:35 p.m. each day Friday, April 18 through Sunday, April 20. The last 2-3 hours of each day’s coverage will include a comprehensive special report that will recap all of the day’s events.
In addition to scheduled events, coverage will include round-the-clock coverage at the Papal residence in Manhattan, reporting from all of the venues before and after the events, and speaking to participants and conveying reactions to Pope Benedict’s visit. The news coverage is being provided by NY1, a news service of Time Warner Cable’s New York City Division.

10:00 a.m. – General Assembly Speech at the United Nations
5:00 p.m. – Address to Ecumenical Persons, Saint Joseph’s Church, Manhattan
Saturday, April 19
8:30 a.m. – Mass for Priests, Deacons & Religious, St. Patrick’s Cathedral, Manhattan
3:30 p.m. – Meeting with Young People with Disabilities, St. Joseph’s Seminary, Yonkers
4:00 p.m. – Meeting with Young People and Seminarians, St. Joseph’s Seminary, Yonkers
Sunday, April 20
8:30 a.m. – Visit to the World Trade Center Site, Manhattan
1:30 p.m. – Mass at Yankee Stadium
7:00 p.m. – Departure Ceremony at JFK Airport
