KANSAS CITY, MO (Aug. 16, 2009) – The game you wanted to catch on ESPN U and your child’s favorite Disney show both started 10 minutes ago and you’re still on the way home from tonight’s after-school activity. Suddenly you realize that you forgot to set the recorder. No worries. Thanks to Start Over, a free new feature offered exclusively by Time Warner Cable, you’ll still be able to watch both shows right from the beginning.
Start Over is enabled by a software upgrade to the existing video on demand (VOD) platform. All Time Warner Cable customers with a set-top box can take advantage of the new free service. The Start Over system instantaneously captures live television programming for immediate, on demand viewing. When tuning to a Start Over-enabled show in progress, customers are alerted to the feature through an on-screen prompt. By pressing “Select” on the remote control, the program is immediately restarted from the beginning. Commercials will appear in the same sequence of the show as they would have in the initial telecast. Start Over-enabled programs can be restarted within the shows’ telecast window.

For the initial launch in August, Start Over is enabled on 25 networks including CMT, Disney, Disney XD, ESPN U, Hallmark, Fuel, VH1 Classic, Starz, Biography, Showtime, BET Jazz, Sleuth, Boomerang, DIY, Chiller, TCM, MTV 2, The N, Nick Toons, Noggin, Fine Living, G4, Encore, History International and Speed.
