Time Warner Cable Launches New HD Channels in Kansas City

Five new additions boost TWC’s lineup to more than 120 HD channels

KANSAS CITY (October 26, 2011) – Time Warner Cable Kansas City launched five new high definition channels today, which now gives TWC customers throughout the metro area a selection of more than 120 crystal-clear HD channels.

Nat Geo WILD, Game Show Network, Crime & Investigation Network, YES Network and the New England Sports Network (NESN) are the latest additions to Time Warner’s channel lineup in the Kansas City area, and are available in HD at no extra charge for customers who have these channels as part of their current cable package.

Nat Geo WILD (TWC channel 141/1141-HD) features programming based on natural wildlife and wildlife history, with a heavy focus on nature's most fierce predators, including “World’s Deadliest,” “Dog Whisperer” and “Ultimate Predators.” The Game Show Network (TWC channel 219/1219-HD) offers viewers classic and current game show programming like “Family Feud,” “Deal or No Deal,” “The Newlywed Game” and “JEOPARDY!” as well as original game show programs. Both channel are available as part of TWC’s Digital Variety package.

The Crime & Investigation Network (TWC channel 222/1222-HD) hosts a range of programs detailing and dramatizing the forensic science fields. C&I programming includes “Hack,” “Nash Bridges,” “Cold Case Files,” “The First 48” and “SWAT.” The network is available as part of TWC’s Digital Choice package.

The YES Network (TWC channel 341/1341-HD) is the most-watched regional sports network in the country and features original biography, interview and magazine programs, in addition to college sports. YES also airs a daily live simulcast of the top-rated “Mike’d Up: Francesa on the FAN” radio show and televises the Notre Dame football coach’s show and encore presentations of Notre Dame home football games. YES also airs the Arsenal Football Club’s English Premier League, FA Cup and UEFA Champions League games in HD on tape delay, along with the club’s weekly “Arsenal World” and “Arsenal 360” magazine shows and selected classic Arsenal games

NESN (TWC channel 342/1342-HD) is the definitive source for New England sports programming. NESN features minor league baseball, regional college sports including college hockey games on Friday nights, various outdoor shows and sports talk shows featuring the sports columnists of The Boston Globe.  YES and NESN are available as part of the TWC Sports Pass.

TWC’s HD lineup starts at channel 1000 and mirrors its standard definition lineup, making it easy to find the new channels. For instance, Nat Geo WILD is located on channel 141 can be found in HD on channel 1141. Viewers can also access the HD version of a standard channel by pushing the “OK/Select” button on their remote and selecting the “Watch in HD” option.
