Time Warner Cable Metro Sports Announces Fall Primetime Lineup

Release Date: 08/24/2011

KANSAS CITY (August 23, 2011) – With fall rapidly approaching, Time Warner Cable Metro Sports has shifted its primetime lineup to coincide with the start of the high school, college and professional football seasons.

Not surprisingly, the new Metro Sports primetime schedule is heavy on local football coverage. Mondays and Thursdays will feature “Red Zone” at 6 p.m. – a 30-minute show that will dissect the latest Kansas City Chiefs news and information. Metro Sports will also broadcast “Red Zone Live” – a 30-minute postgame show - immediately following all Chiefs games.

“Varsity KC” will air on Tuesday evenings at 6 p.m. and will focus on Kansas City area high school football and other seasonal high school sports.

On Wednesdays, “College Gametime” will occupy the 6 p.m. timeslot and will focus on Kansas, Missouri, Kansas State and other Big 12 and area college football news.

As usual, Metro Sports will be very involved in high school football game broadcasts this year, doubling the number of live games that will be televised. Thursday nights will feature a high school football showcase game at 7 p.m. and Fridays will be even busier. Metro Sports and Sports Radio 810 have partnered to bring “High School Gameday,” a live 30-minute pregame show, to area high schools at 6 p.m. each Friday. The “Hy-Vee High School Game of the Week” will continue to occupy its normal time slot on Friday nights at 7 p.m. and the “Honda High School Football Roundup” will recap all the KC area action Fridays at 10:30 p.m.

Two Emmy Award-winning programs return to Metro Sports’ 2011 fall lineup – “Braggin’ Rights,” a trivia competition featuring Metro Sports personalities competing against area businesses/organizations, will air Tuesdays at 7 p.m. In addition, “Fantasy Huddle,” a nationally syndicated fantasy football show, will have new episodes each Thursday at 6:30 p.m.

Also featured in primetime this fall is “Official Review with Brad Porter,” a roundtable discussion on hot-button Kansas City area sports topics, which will air on Tuesdays at 7:30 p.m. “Metro Pro Wrestling,” a local Kansas City based professional wrestling show, will air new episodes each Saturday at 11 p.m.

The network’s flagship daily sports news and highlight show, “Metro Sports Zone,” will continue airing live at 10 p.m. every night with all the biggest sports news of the day
