Time Warner Cable Metro Sports Broadcast of Local All-Female MMA Event to Premiere this Saturday

Release Date: 05/03/2012

Kansas City (May 3, 2012) – This Saturday, Time Warner Cable Metro Sports will broadcast the inaugural Invicta Fighting Championships all-female mixed martial arts (MMA) event that took place last weekend at Memorial Hall in Kansas City. Invicta FC is North America's first all-pro, all-female MMA organization since Fatal Femmes Fighting staged four events in California from 2007 to 2008.
Saturday night’s TV broadcast will start at 7 p.m. and feature five bouts, highlighted by Marloes Coenen vs. Romy Ruyssen and Jessica Penne vs. Lisa Ellis-Ward. There will also be two local fighters on display, as Kansas City natives Mollie Estes and Sarah Schneider will have their bouts featured on the broadcast. The event will be shown in stunning high definition, with announcer Mauro Ranallo, the voice of Strike Force on Showtime, calling the action.
“Our viewers have told us they would like to see more MMA content on Metro Sports, and we’re glad that we can provide them with such an exciting, high-quality product,” said Chris Huwe, TWC Metro Sports general manager.
