Release Date: 03/08/2012

Kansas City (March 8, 2012) – The start of the Major League Baseball season is upon us, and Time Warner Cable Metro Sports is providing Kansas City Royals fans with a comprehensive preview of the team’s 2012 season.

“Royals Report,” presented by the KC Chevy Dealers, will debut at 7 p.m. on Monday, March 12. The one-hour show will feature reports from Mick Shaffer and Brad Porter at Royals spring training in Surprise, AZ, as well as interviews with Royals General Manager Dayton Moore, Manager Ned Yost and all of the team’s top players.

“Spring is always one of the most exciting times of the year for baseball fans, and this year it’s even more so because the Royals have everyone believing they are on the verge of doing something special,” said Chris Huwe, TWC Metro Sports general manager. “There are so many great storylines with this year’s team, and we’re looking forward to bringing those to the forefront in our spring training special.”

In addition to the reports and interviews from Arizona, the Metro Sports crew will also delve into a wide-variety of topics surrounding this year’s team. “Royals Report” will examine how this year’s club is trying to handle higher expectations, as well as preview the sophomore seasons of rising stars Eric Hosmer and Mike Moustakas.

“Royals Report” will also deliver a thorough breakdown of the Royals potential starting lineup, as well as the team’s rotation and bullpen options, so that fans will know exactly what to expect when opening day gets here in less than a month. The spring training special will also take a look at the next wave of young talent in the Royals minor league system, including last year’s first round draft pick Bubba Starling.
