Time Warner Cable Offers Customers Exclusive 9/11 Programming Through Sunday

NY1 will be available to Digital Cable Customers in the Carolinas for extensive coverage of 10th Anniversary

Charlotte, NC (September 7, 2011) –  As America recognizes the 10th anniversary of 9/11, Time Warner Cable is offering customers exclusive programming focused on the events of September 11, 2001, on both News 14 Carolina and NY1, Time Warner Cable’s local news channel in New York City.  Coverage includes recovery and rebuilding efforts and stories on the lasting effects of the worst terrorist attack in U.S. history.

Time Warner Cable’s News 14 Carolina will provide team coverage of 9/11 ceremonies locally and nationally.  Reporters will be live from New York City every morning and evening, with additional reporting from Washington, D.C.  The News 14 Carolina team will also cover the impact on 9/11 on the lives of North Carolinians from a variety of perspectives, including military, education, security and those personally affected by the attacks.

News 14 Carolina will also have extensive coverage of commemoration events in New York City; Washington, D.C., Shanksville, Pa. and across North Carolina, culminating with a wrap-up special on September 11 at 9 p.m. and 11 p.m. EDT.

Time Warner Cable digital cable customers can also tune to channel 115 this week to view comprehensive 9/11 coverage on NY1.  NY1 is devoting most of its daily news coverage and primetime programming this week to events and issues related to 9/11. 
Between today and Sunday, NY1 will focus on a different aspect of 9/11:
• Thursday, September 8: Coverage of post-9/11 health issues and compensation
• Friday, September 9: A look at how Downtown Manhattan is being rebuilt
• Saturday, September 10: NY1 pays tribute to the victims of 9/11

On Sunday, September 11, NY1 will anchor continuous live coverage from the World Financial Center, which overlooks the World Trade Center site, beginning at 6 a.m. EDT.  Coverage will include memorial ceremonies from the World Trade Center site, the Pentagon and in Shanksville, Pa.  A special wrap-up of the day’s events will air on “New York Tonight,” NY1’s primetime news hour, beginning at 8 p.m. EDT.
