New York, NY- June 8, 2006 - Time Warner Cable of New York and New Jersey turned over nearly $150,000 to seven local youth service organizations raised through digital phone, digital cable and high speed data installation fees.  Through this campaign, funds were donated directly to organizations that promote community service, education, literacy and child abuse prevention.

Recipients include: Child Abuse Prevention Program, Police Athletic League, Boys & Girls Club of Mt. Vernon, Staten Island Children’s Campaign, Tomorrow’s Children’s Fund of Bergen County, New Jersey and Make-A-Wish Foundation of Hudson Valley.

“Time Warner Cable selected these community groups as part of our ongoing effort to meet the needs of young people.  These local organizations are geared toward empowering children for the future,” stated Harriet Novet, Vice President of Public Affairs at Time Warner Cable of New York and New Jersey.  “We believe it is important to give back in the communities where our customers live, and this campaign’s success can be attributed to the generosity of our customer participation,” she added.

Time Warner Cable’s annual Children’s Campaign was created in 1989 to help provide much-needed funds to service organizations that enhance education for children within our footprint.  Since its inception 15 years ago, Time Warner Cable has donated $3 million to a variety of organizations directed at improving the lives of young New Yorkers.
