Time Warner Cable Opens First Experience Store in New York on Staten Island

Staten Island, NY (December 15, 2011) Time Warner Cable (TWC) today held a Grand Opening event for a new Time Warner Cable Store on Staten Island, marking the company’s first store in New York to feature its new retail concept providing customers with an enhanced hands-on experience to sample and learn about TWC’s suite of TV, Internet and digital phone products and services.

As part of the celebration of the new store opening, Time Warner Cable will donate up to $10,000 to the Staten Island Children’s Campaign by pledging $1 for each person who visits the store over the next few weeks.

“This new experience store is an important new way we’re connecting with Staten Islanders and continuing our decades-long relationship with the local community,” said John Quigley, Time Warner Cable’s Regional Vice President for NYC. “As we continue to introduce new product technologies and features, this store will be an important place where Staten Islanders can go to better understand how they can better enjoy our growing digital TV features and programming, broadband Internet, and advanced phone services.”

The new 6,200 square-foot experience store, located inside The Richmond Shopping Center at 2845 Richmond Avenue, will also showcase TWC’s SignatureHomeTM service, which provides customers with enhancements such as advanced TV and superfast Wideband Internet service, as well as exceptional customer service.

“We made the very conscious decision to make this store’s layout very open and inviting to encourage people to walk around and sample all of the great technologies we offer,” said Chris Van Name, Time Warner Cable’s Regional Vice President of Sales & New Market Development. “This store is all about improving customer service and providing a relaxed environment where people can interact with us so we can provide solutions to meet their needs.”

Staten Island Borough President James Molinaro said, “I would like to thank Time Warner Cable for being a strong Staten Island employer and choosing our borough as the site for its new store location. This new store, with its modern layout and display of the latest in technology, will bring new energy to this retail shopping plaza while enhancing the fine quality of service that Time Warner Cable provides to its subscribers.”

Time Warner Cable Staten Island store will host a series of upcoming events to help promote the store opening and invites area families and residents to take advantage of these fun activities.

Promotional events will include: a Billy Ray Cyrus autographed guitar giveaway from the Hallmark Channel (December 16 & 17); a meet and greet with the Berenstain Bears (December 19) arranged by Sprout; a truPIDITY Challenge event from truTV (December 20); a book giveaway and book signing from the hosts of TLC’s show, DC Cupcakes (December 22); a photo and autograph session by Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck sponsored by the Cartoon Network (December 27 & 30); and a “Big Button” Time Warner Cable remote giveaway for senior citizens (December 29).
