DAYTON, OH – November 7, 2007 – Dora The Explorer will lead customers through the innovative technology available at the new Time Warner Cable Southwest Ohio flagship retail store in Dayton, Ohio, during its Grand Opening November 16-17. The first of its kind in Ohio, the store will expand the telecommunications company’s storefront presence to a new level of customer outreach.

The 4,000 square-foot retail space, located in The Village At Dayton Mall, 2700 Miamisburg Centerville Road, goes beyond the existing Time Warner Cable retail concept to provide a more welcoming, hands-on experience that the company predicts will strengthen its relationship with customers and the general public.

While the new Dayton location will serve the traditional functions of allowing customers to make payments, pick up equipment, ask questions and receive assistance regarding Time Warner Cable products, it will also deliver new offerings and experiences.

“We purposefully selected the new location at The Village to provide visitors more convenience and give them an  opportunity to try out many of our products and technologies right in the store,” Mark Dunford, Time Warner Cable Southwest Ohio vice president and general manager, said. “They can experience high definition and surround sound in our home theatre that has a huge video wall, try digital phone, Road Runner and other technologies. The new store clearly articulates Time Warner Cable’s many benefits compared to our competitors. Customers and the public can stop into this experiential environment and gain a better understanding of the Time Warner Cable offerings. When customers try out our technology and learn how it integrates together, they clearly see the difference.”

The new Dayton location will have 15 full and part-time employees, up from nine employees currently working at the existing Dayton store.

Features of the store include:

  •  A 9’ x 11’ High Definition video wall
  • Children’s area where they can play computer games using Time Warner Cable’s Road Runner high speed internet service
  • A digital home theater area where customers can sit back and enjoy Time Warner Cable’s High Definition video service
  • A hands-on demonstration of Time Warner Cable’s Road Runner high speed internet service
  • A video demo area for customers to experience DVR functionality and On-Demand channels
  • A Time Warner Cable digital phone display and demonstration

“This new store creates a place where anyone can drive over or walk by and see what we are all about,” said Shannon Mullen, director, retail, for Time Warner Cable Southwest Ohio. “This new location is about bringing Time Warner Cable to our customers. Sometimes it’s hard to comprehend all of our offerings and technology. The store brings all of this to life and also creates a place to hold events and educational sessions in the communities we serve. This facility provides us with the backdrop to do so.”

The Dayton location will hold a grand opening celebration Friday, November 16 and Saturday, November 17, 2007 featuring a visit from Nickelodeon character, Dora the Explorer, along with games, food and prizes. Radio station WHKO, K99.1 FM will broadcast live from the grand opening celebration on Friday, November 16 from 4 to 6 pm and WMMX, Mix 107.7 will broadcast live from the grand opening celebration on Saturday, November 17 from 3 to 5 pm.
