TIME WARNER CABLE PRESENTS SOUTH ASIAN INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL CLOSING NIGHT FILM

Release Date: 10/12/2006

World Premiere of It's a Mismatch

New York, NY – October 6, 2006 – The world premiere of It’s a Mismatch during the closing night presentation of the 3rd Annual South Asian International Film Festival (SAIFF) on October 8th will be presented by Time Warner Cable of New York and New Jersey.  It’s a Mismatch, a film by Ajmal Z. Ahmad, will be shown at AMC Loews (19th Street and Broadway) from 6 to 9 PM.

The world premiere of It’s a Mismatch at SAIFF 2006 marks the first time a South Asian independent film we be premiered outside of India.  “This is an important world premiere film, and we recognize its impact on the communities it touches,” stated Harriet Novet, Vice President, Public Affairs, Time Warner Cable of New York and New Jersey.

Recognizing the growing interest in South Asian, Bollywood and other international films, Time Warner Cable of New York and New Jersey introduced International Movies On Demand on Channel 500 earlier this summer.

“Movie choices on this channel consist of popular and highly acclaimed Bollywood, South Asian, Japanese and Spanish films, reflecting the growing appetite for diverse and unique programming in our service area,” added Novet.  Time Warner Cable has offered South Asian and Bollywood film festivals via On Demand for the past two years.

Bridging the gap between Hollywood and Bollywood, It’s a Mismatch takes the traditional romantic-comedy musical and spices it up. Set amidst the backdrop of the vibrant and rich culture of the Indian community in America, It's a Mismatch is a passionate view of hilariously star-crossed romance that never forgets the importance of family, culture, and staying true to one’s emotions.
