Time Warner Cable’s Albany Division announced today the launch of PowerBoost™, its new technology allowing Road Runner customers to temporarily experience download speeds faster than the already fast standard Road Runner speed of 10Mbps.
PowerBoost™ is a powerful new enhancement that gives bursts of speeds when downloading files or gaming, at no additional cost. PowerBoost™ is a change to the cable modem configuration file that allows customers a short burst of additional speed when downstream bandwidth is available.
This new technology enables Road Runner customers to see improved performance when loading web pages, as well as downloading big files such as videos, music and photos even faster than before. PowerBoost™ is built into Road Runner Standard and Turbo services; there’s no extra charge for the extra speed and it activates automatically when bandwidth is available making it easy to use.
“At Time Warner Cable we are always working to lead the charge with technology and bring the best services and value to our customers,” said Mark Dunford, Regional Vice President of Operations for the Albany Division.
