TIME WARNER CABLE SAN DIEGO DIVISION TO DELIVER NBC UNIVERSAL’S 2008 BEIJING OLYMPIC GAMES TO DIGITAL VIDEO AND ROAD RUNNER CUSTOMERS

NBC Universal Partnership to Provide Olympic High-Definition, Free On Demand and Broadband Programming

(August 5, 2008, San Diego, CA) – Time Warner Cable San Diego, in agreement with NBC Universal (NBCU), today unveiled plans to provide customers in San Diego County with NBCU’s coverage of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games.  A complete schedule of NBCU’s Olympic coverage is available at NBCOlympics.com.  

This year, the Olympic Games will have more coverage than ever before. Beginning August 8, Time Warner Cable brings the exciting action of the 2008 Beijing Summer Olympics right into customers’ homes.  In addition to the more than 1,200 total hours of Olympics coverage on seven NBCU networks – NBC, USA Network, MSNBC, CNBC, Oxygen, Telemundo and Universal HD – –Time Warner Cable San Diego will allow customers to watch and be a part of the Olympics in-Games with Free On Demand and HD services. 

Also, customers will enjoy two HD sport-specific channels for soccer and basketball, in addition to Olympic competition programming for various sports with commentary in one of the host country’s native tongues, Mandarin (Chinese) on channel 738, as well as Korean on channel 737.  

Free on Demand content covering the Olympic competitions will be available through the Sports on Demand portal (channel 103 in San Diego and channel 1 in North County) beginning 8/10 until 8/30.  In Games Free on Demand content will feature overall daily highlights by sport, and the best sessions/games each day will be featured on “Rewind.”

Road Runner subscribers will be able to link to NBCOlympics.com through the RoadRunner.com portal to access 2,200 hours of 25 events streamed live, plus full-event video replays, extensive highlights, including daily recaps of key events, best-of montages, commentator analysis and athlete-specific clips each day.    

For the duration of the Olympic Games, Time Warner Cable will allow those customers with HDTVs to experience Beijing in their own living rooms, by making available more than 800 hours of HD coverage on select NBCU HD networks:
• NBC HD: 225 hours
• Universal HD: 379 hours of simulcasts and re-airs of CNBC and MSNBC (only available to customers subscribing to the HD VIP pack)
• USA HD: Simulcast, 165 hours (temporary carriage for Olympic Games)
• CNBC HD+: Simulcast, 95.5hours (temporary carriage for Olympic Games)
• HD sport-specific channels: NBC Olympic Soccer HD Channel and NBC Olympic Basketball HD Channel, approximately 12 hours per day during Games. (temporary carriage for Olympic Games)
