Charlotte, NC - Time Warner Cable announced today a multi-year agreement with Live Nation, the world’s largest live music company, to become the new title sponsor of the The Uptown Amphitheatre at the Music Factory. The new venue name is the Road Runner Mobile Amphitheatre.
Time Warner Cable launched Road Runner Mobile in December 2009. The naming of the amphitheatre after its new wireless service is another solid example of Time Warner Cable’s commitment to bring state-of-the-art products and services to customers. “With Cable, Digital Home Phone and Internet services, Time Warner Cable is already an entertainment provider inside the home. The Road Runner Mobile Amphitheatre extends our reach to bring customers the best in entertainment outside the home as well,” says Brian Kelly, chief marketing officer, Time Warner Cable East.
Road Runner Mobile provides Internet access on the go through its national 3G network, with the added benefit of 4G service in many metropolitan areas, including Charlotte, Greensboro and Raleigh. When using 4G, customers can expect Internet speeds up to 6 Mbps, the fastest mobile broadband network available. “Road Runner Mobile customers can stay connected away from home and won’t miss a beat,” added Kelly.

The amphitheatre opened last June with The Fray and has hosted 14 concerts thus far including such artists as Zac Brown Band, Alice In Chains, Counting Crows, Heart and Rob Thomas.
