TIME WARNER CABLE TO LAUNCH FASTEST RESIDENTIAL INTERNET SPEEDS IN THE MIDLANDS

Small to medium size businesses benefit from enhanced Internet product.

Release Date: 07/26/2011

Columbia, SC (July 26, 2011) – Time Warner Cable has launched Wideband Internet in the Midlands, which provides the fastest residential Internet speeds in the Midlands. Both residential and small to medium sized business customers in the greater Midlands area, including Columbia, Blythewood, Batesburg, Sumter, as well as Orangeburg can access this enhanced Internet offering.

Wideband Internet allows Columbia area customers to download files, stream a TV show and upload photos within seconds and empower customers to boost productivity by saving time when multitasking. This is the perfect solution for multi-user and multi-device households and Time Warner Cable Business Class customers. Time Warner Cable customers will be able to propel themselves into the next generation of the Internet with speeds up to 50 Mbps downstream and 5 Mbps upstream.

“As more members of the household simultaneously surf the Internet, download vacation photographs, or watch live television through the TWCableTV™ app on their iPad®, Wideband Internet provides all home network devices the fastest connection speeds in the area,” says Charlene Keys, area vice president of operations, South Carolina.

Wideband Internet will continue to offer customers wireless capability, which provides the convenience of mobility throughout the home and the flexibility to connect up to five devices simultaneously.

“The Internet is critical to many businesses and provides tools that allow for collecting, analyzing and sharing data and information.  Many small to medium size business owners require increased download and upload bandwidth to grow and diversify their business in a highly competitive marketplace. Wideband Internet allows our business customers to boost their online productivity and allows for even greater multi-tasking,” adds Keys.  “In many cases, the enhanced performance Time Warner Cable’s Wideband Internet provides can level the playing field in which businesses compete,” continued Keys.

The first area to offer Wideband Internet in South Carolina is the greater Midlands area, including Columbia.   Time Warner Cable expects all its other serviceable areas in South Carolina, including Myrtle Beach and Hilton Head to have Wideband Internet by fall.
