Greensboro, N.C. (March 7, 2011) – Time Warner Cable announced plans to launch Time Warner Cable Wideband Internet for both residential and business customers across the Triad area, with High Point customers being among the first in the Triad to receive this enhanced Internet offering.
“Time Warner Cable’s Wideband Internet is our most powerful Internet product for customers and will more than triple current internet speeds,” said Dianne Blackwood, area vice president of operations, Greensboro. “Time Warner Cable is committed to delivering products that meet the high-speed data needs of our business customers and our residential customers who want the fastest speeds at home for their computers, smartphones and game consoles.”
Wideband Internet will be available to High Point customers by spring, with other Triad cities receiving the service later this year. The next generation of Internet technology produces speeds of up to 50 Mbps downstream and 5 Mbps upstream.
“Customers can leverage this new technology to enhance the speed of multi-device connectivity,” added Blackwood. “For example, a multi-user customer could download files, stream a TV show and upload photos within seconds on different devices at the same time. We are empowering our customers with pure online power to save time and boost productivity when multitasking with multiple devices.”
Wideband Internet will continue to offer customers wireless capability, with convenient mobility throughout the home and the flexibility to utilize up to five devices simultaneously.
