Time Warner Cable will offer 10 One-Cent Movies on Demand to help customers save this Valentine’s Day

San Diego, CA, February 10, 2009 – During the weekend of February 14-15, Time Warner Cable will show customers just how much they care, by presenting a “1 Cent Love N’ Movies Deal,” an entertainment steal for Valentine’s Day.
The “1 Cent Love N’ Movies Deal,” will run from 12:01 a.m, Saturday, February 14 through Sunday, February 15 at 11:59 p.m. and offer all digital cable subscribers a special catalog of ten current and classic box-office romance, action, drama, thriller, comedy, children and family hit movies, exclusively On Demand in high-definition and standard definition –– for one cent each.

The special catalog will feature titles such as musical Mamma Mia! the Movie, featuring Meryl Streep, Pierce Brosnan and Colin Firth; romance piece Love Actually, starring Hugh Grant and Keira Knightley; action-thriller Wanted, featuring Angelina Jolie and James McAvoy; family and kid-friendly tale Dr. Seuss’ Horton Hears a Who; critically-acclaimed comedy Burn After Reading, featuring Brad Pitt and George Clooney, and a host of others.

“Time Warner Cable is excited to offers customers this eclectic assortment of popular films at a truly unbeatable deal,” said Clara Long, VP of Marketing and Sales for Time Warner Cable’s San Diego Division.   “There’s no better time to watch a new film or re-watch an old favorite than during our steal of a deal on Valentine’s weekend.”

According to the National Retail Federation (NRF), last year, 61 percent of consumers celebrated Valentine’s Day, and of those consumers, 48 percent of them celebrated the day by enjoying an evening out, which included a variation of dinner, movies, flowers and candy. In addition, the NRF statistics also reported that last year, the average consumer spent nearly $123 dollars, with men spending close to $163 and women spending roughly $83.

During the “1 Cent Love N’ Movies Deal,” available throughout the entire Valentine’s Day Weekend, customers will be able to purchase any and every movie from the 10-movie catalog, any number of times, all for the price of one cent each. Based on the average spending rates by consumers on Valentine’s Day, the “1 Cent Love N’ Movies Deal” can save customers at least 22% in total Valentine’s Day expenses.
