Time Warner Cable Works with Oak Island to Minimize Service Interruption

Release Date: 03/08/2010

Wilmington, NC – Due to digging and construction associated with an ongoing water and sewer plant upgrade in Oak Island, Time Warner Cable lines have been damaged.  As a result, some customers in the area have experienced a disruption of service.

“We know our customers expect consistent, reliable service and access to 911 using digital phone is vital.  We have expressed our concern about the amount of damage occurring to town officials, and we are doing everything possible to minimize any service disruption associated with the town’s work,” states Kim Cannon, vice president/general manager for Time Warner Cable’s Coastal/Fayetteville Operation.  “We apologize to our customers for any inconvenience, and thank them for their patience during the town’s construction project.”

Time Warner Cable has proactively marked its underground facilities to avoid unnecessary damage.  However, in many cases the damage is still occurring.  To minimize service disruptions, Time Warner Cable is working closely with Oak Island officials to coordinate necessary repairs as they occur, and following a town construction timetable to anticipate any further damages and minimize service outages.

Oak Island Time Warner Cable customers will receive a letter that outlines these potential service issues and provides contact information to ensure that any service issues are dealt with quickly.  Customers experiencing loss of services should contact Time Warner Cable at 1-800-TW-CABLE.
