Time Warner Cable introduced a new, theme-based digital channel lineup today to customers in Beaumont, Corpus Christi, El Paso, Laredo and the Rio Grande Valley areas. The new lineup groups channels together intuitively, making it simpler and easier for customers to find the programming they want to view — and to discover other content. Customers have received notifications at their homes that included a copy of the new channel lineup.
Time Warner Cable digital customers in Zapata can enjoy the new lineup starting October 21, which will complete the theme-based lineup roll out in Texas.
No changes will be made to channels 1 to 99 and there are no changes being made to packages or service plans other than channel location for channels 100 and above.
Channels will be grouped into themes like Entertainment, News & Info, Sports, Music, Kids & Teens and Premiums. Likewise, On Demand content will be found on channels 1000 and above in categories like Primetime On Demand, Entertainment On Demand, Kids On Demand and Music On Demand.
“Our new, theme-based lineup will make it much simpler and easier for our customers to navigate through the lineup,” said Ike Wells, regional vice president of operations at Time Warner Cable in Texas. “And with the new lineup, customers with an HD box will automatically receive the HD feed of the corresponding standard-definition channel where available, providing the best picture.”
Customers are encouraged to check their DVR settings for future or Series Manager Recordings and ensure they are recording the HD version of a channel so their recordings are not affected once the new lineup is launched. All parental control settings will carry over.
Customers can find out more about the new theme-based lineup at twc.com/mychannels and watch a helpful video by visiting http://youtu.be/Ri833EtCfzw.
The new lineup is already available in all other Time Warner Cable Texas service areas with the exception of Zapata where the new lineup will launch on October 21.
