Time Warner Cable will introduce a new, theme-based digital channel lineup starting on August 26 to customers in the Dallas area. The new lineup groups channels together intuitively, making it simpler and easier for customers to find the programming they want to view — and to discover other content. Customers will begin receiving notifications in their homes this week that will include a copy of the new channel lineup.
No changes will be made to channels 1 to 99 and the channels that are part of a customer’s Time Warner Cable TV package will also remain intact.
Channels will be grouped into themes like Entertainment, News & Info, Sports, Music, Kids & Teens and Premiums. Likewise, On Demand content will be found on channels 1000 and above in categories like Primetime On Demand, Entertainment On Demand, Kids On Demand and Music On Demand.
“Our new, theme-based lineup will make it much simpler and easier for our customers to navigate through the lineup,” said Steve Dvoskin, area vice president of operations at Time Warner Cable in North Texas. “And with the new lineup, customers with an HD box will automatically receive the HD feed of the corresponding standard-definition channel where available, providing the best picture.”
Customers are encouraged to check their DVR settings for future or Series Manager recordings and ensure they are recording the HD version of a channel so their recordings are not affected once the new lineup is launched. All Parental Control settings will carry over.

The new National Channel Lineup launch in Dallas, due to its size, will be spread over two dates. Customers in Bedford, Carrollton, Dallas, DeSoto, Flower Mound, Grapevine, and Lancaster will have the new lineup on August 26. Customers in Arlington, Garland, McKinney, Mesquite and Plano will have the new lineup on August 28.
Time Warner Cable Digital TV customers in the Greenville and Commerce areas will receive the lineup August 28. The new lineup is already available in San Antonio, Austin, and the rest of Time Warner Cable’s central Texas service area.
