Time Warner Cable Helps Phone Customers Block Unwanted Telemarketing and Robocalls With Easy Online Sign-up to 'Nomorobo'

Customers now can add the call-blocking feature in one click through TWC VoiceZone® Web site

LOS ANGELES (January 14, 2016) – Stopping unwanted telemarketing and robocalls is easier than ever for Time Warner Cable (TWC) Phone customers with a new, simple online sign up process for Nomorobo, a proven third-party call-blocking application. TWC has integrated the feature into its home phone management Website, VoiceZone®, so all it takes is one click to turn it on and enjoy more peace and quiet.

“With robocalls being the largest category of complaints at the Federal Communications Commission, we want to do everything we can to empower our customers to take control over the calls that come into their home,” said Jeff Lindsay, GVP and General Manager of TWC Home Phone. “Nomorobo, along with several other privacy features we offer, provides our customers peace of mind in knowing that illegal telemarketing and robocalls calls won’t get through.”

Nomorobo automatically blocks phone calls from many telemarketers and robocallers. The service takes advantage of Time Warner Cable’s “Answer Anywhere” technology, a feature unique to digital phone service that allows incoming calls to be routed to up to five different telephone lines. The call rings in the home and simultaneously at Nomorobo’s servers.  If the number is on a so-called “blacklist,” the call will end after one ring.

To add the free Nomorobo feature, phone customers should sign into TWC VoiceZone using their TWC ID. Under the settings tab, select call privacy then simply click on “turn on” Nomorobo.

TWC offers additional free “Peace and Quiet” privacy features to phone customers that can be easily activated on the VoiceZone Web site.  With these features, customers can:

  • Block up to 30 specific phone numbers
  • Block calls from numbers with hidden caller ID information
  • Accept calls from up to 30 phone numbers and block all others
  • Block their number from being displayed through Caller ID for a particular call
  • Assign a special ringtone for up to 30 phone numbers
