Time Warner Cable Touts Speed Capabilities and Investment in Louisville

Time Warner Cable (TWC) has submitted its response to Louisville Metro Government’s RFI for broadband and infrastructure upgrade and expansion.

"Time Warner Cable has evolved our products and services to meet the needs of our customers and will continue to do so through our innovative technologies and our highly reliable, scalable and advanced network,” said Dinni Jain, chief operating officer, Time Warner Cable. “With more than 1,000 employees and nearly 227,000 customers in Louisville, we have a vested interest in the city’s success and development.”

Already in Louisville, Time Warner Cable Business Class (TWCBC) has deployed thousands of miles of fiber and coaxial infrastructure that today allows TWCBC customers to utilize superfast speeds up to 1 Gigabit. TWCBC provides ultra-high speed fiber services to hospitals, schools, universities and the KFC-Yum! Center, where TWC is the “Official Advanced Communications Provider.”

In 2013 alone, TWC invested $52 million in its network to improve reliability and launch the very latest in products and services such as:

Standard Internet Speed Increase – TWC has increased the maximum download speed of its most popular Internet service – Standard Internet – by 50 percent, from 10 Mbps to 15 Mbps at no additional cost.

TWC TV – TWC customers can enjoy more than 5,000 On Demand options and 300 live television channels on any TWC TV device, including iPhone, iPad, Android tablets and phones, Windows and Mac powered computers, Roku Streaming Players, Samsung Smart TVs, and Microsoft’s Xbox 360 console.

IntelligentHome – IntelligentHome is TWC’s next generation home management system that provides security, automation and energy management.  The easy-to-use wireless system lets customers remotely access and control their home security settings, lighting and thermostats and view real-time video of their home from a PC or mobile device.  

VoiceZone Connect – The VoiceZone Connect app for PC and Mac computers lets customers manage Home Phone service from their computer.

SHOWTIME ANYTIME®, HBO GO® & MAX GO® – TWC customers who subscribe to SHOWTIME®, HBO® or CINEMAX® have free, unlimited on demand access to hundreds of hours of the network's programming on any computer,  iPhone®, iPad®, Android™ phones and tablets or Kindle Fire™ anywhere in the U.S.

In the coming weeks, TWC will also introduce Caller ID on TV – A convenient feature that allows customers to see who's calling their TWC home phone. When the phone rings, the name and number of the caller appears on the TV screen.
