Queens, New York (March 30, 2016) - Time Warner Cable (TWC) today announced that it has recruited Wajeeha Aziz to be its Area Vice President for Technical Operations for Brooklyn and Queens. Ms. Aziz started this week and succeeds Brien Kelley, who is retiring this month after more than 37 years at TWC. She will report to John Quigley, TWC’s Regional Vice President of Operations for the New York City New Jersey service area.
“Brien’s dedication to TWC and its customers through he years has been invaluable. His guidance, leadership and expertise have been instrumental to TWC’s success,” said John Quigley, NYC Regional Vice President of Operations for TWC. Wajeeha is a terrific addition to our leadership team and will help ensure that customers in Brooklyn and Queens receive great experiences with our Internet, TV and phone services."
Kelley has been part of the TWC family for the better part of four decades, starting his career as an Operations Supervisor at what was then Manhattan Cable. He has held a number of operations leadership positions in the New York City area, including leading all cable operations on Staten Island. He became AVP for Brooklyn and Queens in 2012, where he led all technical operations and oversaw TWC Maxx investments that increased Internet speeds to 300 Mpbs and improved the TV experience. Under his leadership, technicians serving Queens and Brooklyn customers arrive on-time 98 percent of the time during TWC’s industry-leading 1-hour appointment windows.
Kelley is also committed to community involvement, which is one of TWC’s core values. He currently sits on the board for the Boys and Girls Club of Metro Queens, as well as the NYC Chapter of the Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers. He is also the Executive Sponsor for the TWC Caregivers Employee Resource Group.
"I am very grateful to have spent my career with this great company. I’ve been incredibly fortunate to work with so many great people and I am very proud of what my Time Warner Cable colleagues have accomplished together," said Kelley.
Aziz brings more than 25 years of industry experience to TWC. She most recently served as Director of Operations for Verizon Communications, where she led the construction, migration and deployment of its network in Brooklyn and the Bronx and had overarching responsibility of 1,200 employees. She has held other local leadership roles of increasingly responsibilities, including management of the company’s construction and customer operations on Long Island.
Aziz holds a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering from New York Institute of Technology and a Master of Business Administration in finance from Wright State University.
