NEW YORK CITY, November 9, 2015 –Time Warner Cable (TWC) today announced that it has formed a partnership with New York Cares, New York City’s largest volunteer management organization dedicated to helping New Yorkers in need. As part of the partnership, TWC has pledged to have approximately 400 TWC employees volunteer nearly 1,300 hours to support 14 New York Cares projects.
“Community investment is one of Time Warner Cable’s values and we are very happy to support such a fine organization like New York Cares. It’s just one way TWC is giving back,” said John Quigley, NYC Regional Vice President of Operations for TWC. “We’re committed to making our communities stronger and partnering with New York Cares is a great way to amplify our employee volunteerism initiatives to help New Yorkers in need.”
"New York Cares is extremely grateful for Time Warner Cable's generous financial contribution and volunteer support," said Gary Bagley, Executive Director of New York Cares. "The company's efforts provide us with the resources to take on the city's biggest challenges, such as improving education for public school students, meeting immediate needs of vulnerable populations, and caring for NYC's public spaces. It is both exceptional and essential that our city's corporate sector be a partner in this important work."
TWC employees will volunteer their time to support a variety of New York Cares projects that help needy New Yorkers. Initiatives include creating non-sew blankets for mothers and children, revitalizing parks and other public spaces, meal delivery for homebound New Yorkers, organizing Math Olympics and science projects for kids, and expanding children’s horizons by taking them on field trips to museums and cultural attractions, among other worthy New York Cares projects.
