Time Warner Cable News NY1 (TWC News NY1) and Time Warner Cable Business Class today announced they will recognize 25 high school students who excel in academics, athletics, and the community at the New York Stock Exchange for the 15th Scholar Athlete of the Week luncheon, on June 27th at 11 a.m. The Scholar Athletes winners will be joined by the Public Schools Athletic League and Senior Deputy Chancellor Dorita Gibson, who will be on-hand to deliver the keynote speech. The Time Warner Cable Business Class NY1 Scholar Athlete recognizes high school students who successfully combine academics and athletics with positive achievements in the community.
Profiles of inspirational students from areas throughout the five boroughs were featured on TWC News NY1 from December 2013 through June 2014. In order to be eligible, all the students must participate in varsity athletics, extra-curricular activities, and their local community, as well as have an excellent academic record.

Each of the Time Warner Cable Business Class NY1 Scholar Athletes featured by Time Warner Cable News NY1 during the 2013 - 2014 school year will be offered a $1,000 scholarship. All scholarship awards will go toward tuition, room and board, or books.
