Time Warner Cable’s Week of Service Designed to Strengthen Northeast Ohio Communities

Cleveland (Sept. 24, 2015) – There are more than 3,000 Northeast Ohio Time Warner Cable (TWC) employees who work hard every day to deliver essential communication, information and entertainment services. These dedicated professionals also live in the area, and are committed to improving the quality of live in the Buckeye State. From September 28 through October 4, the employees of TWC will engage in a week-long community service program called Together We Can Week of Service.

Together We Can Week of Service includes service projects in support of several nonprofit organizations including Rebuilding Together, the American Red Cross and Stars and Stripes Canton Akron Chapter, a division of Blue Star Mothers of America, Inc. Employees will perform much-needed home refurbishing for people living with disabilities, comfort kits for families that have been displaced by natural disasters, paracord survival bracelets for the military, letters to soldiers stationed abroad and other community projects.

Each year, TWC provides millions in financial, in-kind and volunteer support. TWC’s community focus includes diversity & inclusion, disaster preparedness, improving the environment, internet safety and creating the next generation of problem solvers. TWC encourages employee volunteerism by offering paid time so associates can support community organizations through their skills, time and efforts.

TWC’s best-known community initiative is Connect a Million Minds (CAMM). The $100 million cash and in-kind philanthropic initiative is designed to address America’s declining proficiency in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM), which puts our children at risk of not competing successfully in a global economy. More than 1.035 million people have taken the TWC CAMM pledge to help connect young people to the exciting world of STEM, and that number continues to grow.
