New York, NY— April 13, 2007 – Seven local non profit organizations are the beneficiaries of the Time Warner Cable Annual Campaign. The funds were raised through a recent customer campaign promoting child safety, education through community service, literacy and child abuse prevention.
According to Harriet Novet, Vice President, Public Affairs, the beneficiary organizations are Child Abuse Prevention Program, NYC’s Public Libraries, Police Athletic League, Boys & Girls Club of Mt. Vernon, Staten Island Children’s Campaign, Englewood Community Foundation and Make-A-Wish Foundation of Hudson Valley.
“Time Warner Cable has been giving back to the communities where our customers live since we began doing business over 30 years ago. This specific campaign was developed to provide resources to local groups that cultivate and empower young people,” stated Novet. “Giving children a chance to meet their full potential is the best gift we could provide for their future,” she added.
Created in 1989, the annual campaign helps provide much-needed funds to service organizations that enhance education and develop skills that offer children an opportunity for a brighter future. The company’s local philanthropic work focuses on young people, education, culture and the arts. Time Warner Cable has donated over $3 million to a variety of children’s organizations over the last 16 years.
