Release Date: 11/15/2013

If you’re in and around Charlotte and surfing the Web using public WiFi, there’s a good chance you’re on Time Warner Cable’s multimillion dollar WiFi network. That’s because today the network offers more than 1,700 hotspots available at no cost to Time Warner Cable customers with Standard Internet or above, and on a pay-as-you-go-basis to non-subscribers.

"Investments in technology are important to build on Charlotte’s strong reputation as a great place to live and work," said State Senator Bob Rucho. "I am pleased with Time Warner Cable's investment to keep its customers connected when they leave home to experience the many great things the Charlotte area has to offer."

The company launched the first phase of its WiFi network build-out in August 2012 with 200 hotspots and has steadily grown the network to cover areas throughout Charlotte, including downtown and popular shopping, entertainment and visitor destinations.
