What do I do if I receive the “Failure Occurred in function BeginProtocolNegotiation” error?:


Try the following:

  1. Shut down your computer.
  2. Press the Reset button on the back of the cable modem.
  3. When the Cable light stops flashing on the cable modem, turn your Macintosh back on (this should take about a minute).
