How do I automate my home’s lighting using IntelligentHome system rules?

You can program your lighting to go on and off based on a daily schedule using the Subscriber Portal or the IntelligentHome app.

To program your lighting from the Subscriber Portal:

  1. Sign in to the Subscriber Portal.
  2. Select My Rules.
  3. Select Create.
  4. Scroll down to select Scheduled Event. Every day is selected by default.
  5. If you wish, select specific days of the week, and then select Next.
  6. Select Start.
  7. Set the time you want your lighting to come on, and select OK.
  8. If you want to repeat this action during the course of the day, select the desired interval from the drop-down list. If you choose to repeat the action, you must then select an End time.
  9. Select Next.
  10. In the Do This section, select Turn On Light.
  11. Select the light or lights you want to turn on, and select Next.
  12. If you want the light to turn off automatically, select the Hours and Minutes you want the light to remain on. If you want to turn the light off yourself, for example, whenever you to go to bed, do not specify the Duration.
  13. Select Next.
  14. Select Save.

To program your lighting from the Home Security app:

  1. Sign in to the app.
  2. Select My Rules.
  3. Select Create.
  4. Swipe up and select Scheduled Event. Every day is selected by default.
  5. If you wish, select specific days of the week, and select Next.
  6. Select Start.
  7. Set the time you want your lighting to come on, and then tap a blank area of the screen.
  8. If you want to repeat this action during the course of the day:
    • Select the desired interval from the drop-down list.
    • Select End. Select the time you want the repetition to end, and then tap a blank area of the screen.
  9. Select Next.
  10. In the Do This section, select Turn On Light.
  11. Select the light or lights you want to turn on, and select Next.
  12. Under Duration, the default selection is Forever, that is, the light will not turn off automatically. If you want the light to turn off automatically, select Forever, and then select the Hours and Minutes you want the light to remain on.
  13. Select Next.
  14. Select Save.

Note: If you create more than one rule about lighting, make sure they do not conflict with each other. For example, if one rule has the lights go on at 9 p.m. and off at midnight, another rule that turns the lights out at 11 p.m. creates a conflict.
