How do I manage IntelligentHome text and email alerts?


You can add rules to send you email or text messages in certain circumstances. You can also add new contacts and indicate that a message is sent to more than one contact.

Before you can add a rule that specifies a new contact, you must add that contact to your trusted circle.

To add a contact:

  1. Sign in to the Subscriber Portal or the IntelligentHome app:
  2. Select More from the main menu.
  3. Select Trusted Circle.
  4. For Call after police in emergency or Non-emergency contacts, select the Plus (+) button.
  5. Add your new contact’s:
    • First Name.
    • Last Name.
    • Email. This option is not added for emergency contacts.
    • 10-digit phone number. Do not include punctuation. Then select whether that number is Home, Mobile, or Other.
  6. If desired, add an additional email address or phone number.
  7. Select Save.

To modify the notification method or contact information for a system notification rule:

  1. Sign in to the Subscriber Portal or the IntelligentHome app:
  2. From the Rules menu, select Rules Setup. The Rules Setup page opens.
  3. Click the pencil icon to edit the rule you want to modify. The Edit Rule page opens.
  4. In the Do This section, select either Send Email or Send Text Message.
    • If you want to use both notification methods, you must have two separate rules.
  5. If you want to:
    • Add a new email address or phone number, click Select Another Email or Select Another Mobile Phone.
    • If you have chosen Send Email and you want to include a picture or video, from the Add Picture or Video drop-down list, select a camera and whether you want to send a picture or a video.
  6. Select Save.
