The Password Reset Tool allows you to change your password quickly and easily.
Note: The Password Reset Tool will launch in a pop-up window. If you have a pop-up blocker turned on, you may need to adjust your browser settings to allow pop-ups.
Changing or Resetting your Password
- Visit the Password Reset Tool for assistance.
- If you know your password, select I know my e-mail password and I want to change it. You will be directed to the Account Management page, where you will be able to change your password. Or, If you don't know your password, select I don't know my e-mail password and you will be prompted to enter your e-mail address.
- Enter your e-mail address in the E-mail Address field and click the Submit button.
- If you have not been to the site before, you will be prompted for your Cable Modem ID. For instructions on how to locate your Cable Modem ID, visit How can I obtain my Modem ID.
- If you have used the Password Reset Tool before and set a security question, see the Repeat Visitor section.
- Enter your Cable Modem ID in the Modem ID field. Click Submit.
- You will be asked to select a Security Verification Question and provide an answer for your selected Security Question. This answer will be used to verify your identity in the future for password retrieval.
- Once you have entered your Security Question and Answer, click the Reset Password button. Your password will be reset and display as a random 8-digit number.
- To choose a new, easy to remember password, visit Subscriber Self Care.
Repeat Visitor
- If this isn't your first visit and you had previously set up a security question, you will be prompted to enter an Answer to the Security Verification Question from your prior visit.
Note: It is important that you enter the answer in the same upper/lower case characters that you used when you first set up your Security Question/Answer. An exact match is required.
- Once you have entered your answer in the Answer field, click the Reset Password button.
- Your password will be reset and display as a random 8-digit number.
- To choose a new, easy to remember password, visit Subscriber Self Care.
Spectrum Password Guidelines
- Must be between 8 and 20 characters long
- Must include at least one uppercase letter, one lowercase letter and one number
- Must include at least one special character (symbols, punctuation marks, etc.)
- Must not be the same as any of your previously used passwords
Helpful Hints
- Use a password that's easy for you to remember but difficult for others to guess.
- Use a different password for each of your different online accounts.
- Change your password every 30 to 60 days.
- Keep your password secret and don't write it down.
- Never send your password or username via email.
