Internet FAQs

How secure is your Home WiFi service?

At the time of installation, your technician will enable the best security setting (WPA2-AES) on your WiFi-enabled Internet modem. This will protect your Home WiFi and keep unwanted users from accessing your network. If you installed your own Home WiFi, you can set up WPA2-AES by accessing the web-based interface of your WiFi-enabled Internet modem and following the instructions in the device's user guide. If you have an older WiFi-enabled device that will not be using WPA2 with AES, you can try using WPA2 - AES+TKIP encryption as a fall back. WEP encryption is not recommended due to known security flaws.

Note: We require the use of encrypted security for accessing your Home WiFi network. Open networks are not permitted.
